Whatever happend to traditional Republicans, being for small government influence on the people's individual lives and a balanced budget? Now they seem to be for controlling every aspect of your life and saying f-it to the budget.
perfect example.... the hardest to defend position, because nobody is truly for it, the 'destruction of a child'... the big A... Abortion. In all honesty who's buisness is it but between the parents, and possibly their God, wether or not they should have a baby? Its a difficult enough decision to make without having Bible bangers and the Government breathing down their neck. and what about medically required "Child destructions"? Should those be banned too?
There is no clause for such action in any part of the constitution. Supposidly there is in the bible, yet nobody has been able to show me a single phrase with the word 'child destruction' or abortion in it. simply put, its like this: If you're agaisnt abortion, dont have one. Its a difficult choice to make, even when its just between the two needed parties.
Same goes for all these 'morality' laws. Who cares of two dudes or chicks want to get married? I understand if the church has an opposition to it and wont let it be sanctioned by the church, but damnit, let the state recognize it. But once again, the 'moral right' makes it seem like we are all going to burn in hell if joe and john down the street get married. Nobody cares if their boinging around their bedroom, we just dont want them to have wedding bands on!
My point is this, some things can be controlled, others cant. If a woman is determined not to have a child, for one reason or another, then she will find a way. While i think there should only be free clinics if its a medically needed one, having those clinics provides a safe way for it to proceed, protecting from infections, sterility and death. If two guys want to get together, then guess what? There going to, regardless if they have the licence or not. The only difference is taxes and labling. and what's the big deal if they want to be labled as a committed couple, and get the same benifits as a straight couple?
what needs to happen is to realize there are parts of people's lives that are private, even from the government, and let them live their lives. get the government, and religon, out of it.
